is perimenopause?<\/strong><\/h3><p>Perimenopause is the lead up to the menopause and this is when we can experience the majority of symptoms ie hot flashes, brain fog, weight gain, irregular periods. This usually starts around 45 to 55 years of age and lasts for 3 to 7 years but can last for anything up to 14 years.\u00a0<\/p><p>Perimenopause can also start in your 30\u2019s and this is called early-menopause. I was diagnosed as perimenopause at 37 but at the time there was little information provided or available and I didn\u2019t understand what it really meant for my health, body and mind. If I had I would have adjusted my lifestyle to better prepare myself for this time in my life.<\/p><h3><strong>What is the menopause?\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3><p>The menopause is when our oestrogen levels decline and our periods have stopped for 12 months or more. Only 1 out of 4 women will not experience any symptoms.
